Saudi Arabia's
Winning Bid

In December 2024, FIFA's Congress voted to award the 2034 FIFA World Cup to Saudi Arabia — making the Kingdom the first Middle Eastern nation outside Qatar to host the tournament. The bid was built on three pillars: world-class infrastructure, a transformative Vision 2034 programme, and a genuine passion for football that has grown enormously in recent years.

Saudi Arabia's domestic league has attracted some of the world's biggest names, and the country's investment in grassroots football has produced a generation of young Saudi players ready to compete on the world stage. Hosting the World Cup is the centrepiece of a broader sporting and cultural transformation.
